1918-1992

Ernest Stone was born in Brooklyn, NY and lived his entire adult life in Manhattan.
During the 60’s and 70’s, Stone was one of the top 10 disc jockeys in the New York area. He wrote articles for Journal-American and other popular Rock and Roll fan. As an actor, he was a founding member of “New Stages” an Off-Broadway repertory company that presented works by Sartre, Garcia-Lorca and Stavis
A self-taught artist, he started in the late 60s and produced prolifically both as a photographer and collage artist. He had a solo photography exhibition in 1975, entitled “New York A to Z” at the Rina Gallery located across from the Whitney Museum.
